Formed Copper Busbar

The formed copper busbar is a T2 copper bar bent on a bending machine to exact angles defined by customer drawings. The most common configuration is a 90-degree bend, but U-shapes, Z-shapes and multi-angle forms are produced as well for more complex layouts. Copper springs back slightly after bending, and the amount depends on thickness and bend angle; our workers set compensation angles based on experience and verify each new configuration with a test piece before production.

Product Description

The formed copper busbar is a T2 copper bar bent on a bending machine to exact angles defined by customer drawings. The most common configuration is a 90-degree bend, but U-shapes, Z-shapes and multi-angle forms are produced as well for more complex layouts. Copper springs back slightly after bending, and the amount depends on thickness and bend angle; our workers set compensation angles based on experience and verify each new configuration with a test piece before production. Every bent bar is checked with an angle gauge after forming, and the bend area is inspected for surface cracks, which indicate the bend radius was too tight. We respect the minimum bend radius for each thickness so the finished bar installs easily and stays reliable under load.

A bent busbar is only useful if its angles and dimensions match the installation, and there is no room to adjust it on site. This is where production experience matters: the springback compensation that determines whether a 90-degree bend actually comes out at 90 degrees is a hands-on skill built from years of running the bending line, and every new configuration starts with a test piece confirmed against the drawing. Because we manufacture from customer drawings and make a pre-production sample before bulk cutting, panel builders can verify the bent bar against their assembly before committing to the full order.

Applications

Application 1 – Distribution cabinets. Bent busbars handle directional changes inside the panel, letting the conductor follow the cabinet layout instead of forcing straight bars into awkward positions.

Application 2 – Switchgear assemblies. When the current path must route around obstacles or through limited space, a pre-formed bar fits the available envelope without on-site bending.

Application 3 – Connections that change elevation. A simple Z-bend shifts the busbar up or down to align with terminals at different heights, reducing the number of joints and connection points.

Customization

Formed copper busbar is produced from customer CAD drawings or 3D files, with bend angle, bend radius, overall dimensions and hole positions defined per project. We confirm the processing boundary in advance for complex multi-bend structures, make a pre-production sample for approval, and allow mixed specifications in one order. OEM branding is supported.

Packaging & Transportation

Bent busbars are wrapped with bubble film and bundled to prevent deformation during transit; long or heavy profiles are secured on solid wooden pallets. We support factory pickup and nearby-port delivery under EXW or FOB terms.

FAQ

Q1. Can you bend copper busbar exactly to our drawings?

Yes. We manufacture from your CAD drawings or 3D files, verify springback compensation with a test piece for each new configuration, and make a pre-production sample for your confirmation.

Q2. How long does a custom bent busbar order take?

Custom products are usually delivered within 1–2 weeks after drawing confirmation; repeat orders can be prioritized in the production schedule.

Q3. What if the bent busbars arrive damaged?

Send us photos with the part numbers and quantities. If the cause is our processing or insufficient packaging protection, we deduct the corresponding amount based on the defective ratio; logistics-caused damage is handled through the freight forwarder's claim process.
